Our Team
Solar Generation MW designs and installs high quality solar electric systems which power homes, businesses, and nonprofits in Greater St. Louis. Our team is known for their professionalism, years of expertise, and responsiveness to client’s needs.
Pete Yannakakis: Founder
After a 30 year career in finance and the military, moving into the solar industry was a natural progression for Pete Yannakakis, with his technological skillsets and his desire to bring clean energy to the Midwest. He partnered with Solar Generation in New York, who have over 15 years of solar installation experience, and created a team capable of providing the highest quality solar to the St. Louis area.
Pete has a history of leadership and quality, having graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1988. He was selected into the Navy Nuclear Power Program and served as a nuclear submarine officer stationed in Pearl Harbor Hawaii. His decorations include: Sea Service Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals and Gulf War Medal.
Following his active-duty naval service, Pete received his MBA with a concentration in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis. He then entered the finance community working as an institutional equity trader specializing in foreign markets.
